The US is currently a house divided against itself. History is replete with evidence and wisdom that this doesn't work.

The Ancient Greek storyteller, Aesop, reminds us in the bundle of sticks. No person can break the bundle. But if each person takes one and breaks it, the bundle becomes broken.

In the words of Christ: "...Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand." (New International Version)

Patrick Henry: "United we stand, divided we fall."

We are a nation of many strengths, such as,  "majority rule, minority rights," and "every individual has a right to vote." It takes a variety of opinions to make great policy.

Our next leader needs to be less about debating and creating polarization, and more about bringing us together as a collective whole, where we are strongest.
